How Much Coverage Do You Need?

About Us

Liability Coverage Limits: How high of a limit should I select?

When an accident is your fault, you're responsible for damage to people and property. With liability coverage, your insurance covers the amount up to whatever “limit” you have selected for your policy.

Many accidents result in medical bills and vehicle/property repairs that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. If you don't have a lot of money, then select the highest limit available so you're less likely to pay as much out-of-pocket.

Collision and Comprehensive Coverage: Do I really need it?

Collision covers repairs after your vehicle collides with other vehicles and/or objects. Comprehensive covers vehicle repairs from theft and “acts of God” like animal impacts and natural disasters.

It's wise to have both types given that losses can be costly. Many states, as well as dealerships and banks that offer vehicle financing and lease options, require both forms of coverage.

Collision and Comprehensive Deductibles: How much should I pay?

The deductible is your out-of-pocket obligation before the insurance payout.

If you can't afford high premiums, consider a higher deductible. Keep in mind, your premium won't be as high but your out-of-pocket obligation will be a lot higher. If you can't afford to pay a high deductible when you need it most, then go with a higher premium.
